A physical model to explain the structural principles of ZYG-Proto#2

This model attempts to explain the principies of: 1) modularity (ie, the structure can have different sizes since it is made go modules), 2) connectivity to a surface or surfaces that cover the structure (made of lycra, for example or any of the other options that have been identified in other people´s work) which makes the overall shape change. The "camshaft" on the top of the structure can be linked to any part of the structure and provides tension and release of tension as it moves (operated by the interactor or by automated means). The structure can hold sound and light projection devices.

  1. Good evening! After a week of reflection, I must say that proto 1 is the one that I could like. At this point, it is the one who gives me the possibility to associate around it. The proto 2 is maybe as good as number 1, but I am not able to visualize it clearly.

Proto 1, it is still difficult to understand the use of it- how big is it and should the dancer and audience use it both inside and outside? Could you measure it?

Proto 1 could maybe be very interesting with a light design?

As we see our collaboration right now, your ensemble will be the one who should tour it around and you are the one that must be happy with the construction.

I am very interested in details when it comes to aesthetics and both could work out, but it should be useful and beautiful at the same time, it should be very interesting for the eye as well as the embodied visit.

Proto 1: In my head I see a costume that is a contrast with soft fabrics to the proto 1, the shape of the proto is very interesting and gives clear ideas to a body in action, bending and stretching. Folding and unfolding.

    1. Yes it is difficult to visualise Proto02 but Miguel is making a prototype and I hope that soon this will be more clear. Both Proto01 and Proto02 provide the same amount of space (5x4x2.8) m and the idea would be that they are interesting objects both from inside and outside. Yes, light needs to be thought and one of the ideas (not the only one) would be that the object would "emanate" light. Yes, I agree with the principles that you mention. I have to clarify, however, two situations about costumes: 1) we do not have a budget for costumes. But I am sure that we will certainly find out a proper solution; 2) we have invited a man, Pedro Ramos, to be the second performer, i.e., the person that will alternate with Sandra. When we started to think about who this person could be we rapidly reached the conclusion that Pedro is the natural choice, considering his talent, skill and experience (he was at the root of AliBaBach, which now he does with Sandra, they both did Jardim Interior; Pedro does with me Anatomia do Piano) and the fact that we really want to envolve the best people in this project. He is vey happy to be on board and I am sure he will be wonderful to work with.

  2. Something more......Will there be modules that the children could touch? Something on the floor, a soft carpet, different materials that gives them a various tactile experience?
