The idea of a space that evolves/breathes/moves is interesting and feasible. Individual spaces inside a collective space. The performer (and eventually the visitors/participants) has evident/physical relationships with the structure (the structure is more than the contention of the space, it offers possibilities for interaction.
A few examples about macramé/crochet techniques
What about making a shelter that protect all and that also can be exiting to look at for those who look up. Could there be some soft balls with light in that could be private chairs for couples of baby and parent. We need to keep in mind that the three years old are on their legs and they would maybe like to move something around. Could the private zones be a light and sound installation in itself?
ReplyDeleteHave you seen "How hight the sky" from Polyglot Theatre/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFeSF6CjKcI
The costume could have layers of fabric with sounds and light within as a connection to space as well in our installation.
I like their work very much, it is an open space, but still very exiting.

ReplyDeleteIs there anything new about the space? How are you working right now?
ReplyDeleteMiguel has already an idea about how to make an "exoskeleton" (i.e., a structure that can hold the surface/walls and allows for evolution of shape through the manipulation of mechanisms) and also the "individual spaces". He is in the process of making drawings and a scaled model for us to comment and suggest further ideas/modifications. I hope that next week we will be posting some of this material
DeleteThis sounds great! That will bring us further in our planning. Looking forward!
